Hey Naya! Thanks for the great question. We, too, are interested in language kink purposes, so we're making a slight adjustment here.
The psychic connection needs to be accepted by both parties in order to activate the auto-translate. This will become habitual for everyday communication, like most behavior and tone and mental shifts involved in linguistic codeswitching. This makes the solution to the language barrier an easy and seamless opt-in which preserves the chance for characters to respect their linguistic proficiencies and cultures of origin. Figuring out how to switch it 'on' may also lead to some fun initial mishaps as characters arrive and settled in for interested players.
As a related note, the psychic connection can't auto-translate written text, since it's relying on borrowing the familiarity and intention of the speaker for live-translation during in-person conversation.
We hope this helps, and will be updating our FAQ accordingly before the TDM drops.
