RUBILYKSKOYE is a plot-forward horror/smut game. Upon arriving in the eponymous township, characters are cursed to transform into monsters if they do not have regular sexual intercourse. The transformation into a beast is painful, and when it is complete, they lose their sense of self, becoming driven only by an appetite for sex and/or violence. The goal is to explore characters' dark urges and the ways in which their trauma responses to dark and painful circumstances can push them to their limits, changing them into monsters one way or another.
The game will alternate monthly between horror-based and sex-based events. Horror events will draw on various tropes and elements like body horror, gore, violence, psychological horror, loss of autonomy, mistrust of senses, and lovecraftian madness, and will often tie into the overarching plot spearheaded by the town's Duchess. Smut events will draw primarily on kink tropes driven by the cult-like behavior of the local population.
Opt-outs will vary by event. While players can opt-out of the smut parts of the game, it will intensify the horror aspects of the game for their character, and opting out of the horror parts of the game will generally require more involvement in the smut components.
